Published Standards
Current release: Seventh Edition, Rev 3
Foreword
The NCNG Standard Guidelines represent an ongoing effort by the Construction and Facility Management Office (CFMO) to maintain updated details, specifications and design guidelines for items that are significant or unique to the NC National Guard (NCNG). This guide will be updated regularly as industry standards and DOD regulations change.
The NCNG Standard Guidelines are meant to assist Architects, Engineers and Contractors in gaining an understanding of the general functions to address in the design and construction documents for NCNG facilities. The objective is to implement consistent design practices across all facilities maintained by the NCNG. These standard guidelines apply to all projects for new construction (including additions) as well as alterations to and rehabilitation and conversion of existing facilities and maintenance/R&R.
This design guide is written for the design-architect who will be preparing design and construction documents as well as for construction and facility managers and other NCNG personnel who will be planning, reviewing, and approving the facility design. The intent is to encourage high-quality, user-friendly, functional, energy-efficient and sustainable facilities using the latest engineering and construction industry standards.
The current release is the Seventh Edition, Rev 3. Each NCNG Standard is reviewed and revised on an ongoing basis; content is added and the master standard is updated with each revision. Since the 3rd Edition, every release has included a revision log noting what changed.
